About Me
Born in the Philippines then moved to Hawaii at the age of nine. I remember in high school being quiet and reserve. I used to spend my recess mostly under the tree in front of the science building or inside the library with friends. Now I bark orders at people that I work with to get the job done. I joined the U.S. Navy right out of high school with three main reasons; #1. To get away from Ka'u, #2. Independence, and #3. Someone in the family told my mom that females didn't belong in the military. I considered my decision to join to be a "great one." I was lucky enough to travel around the world and meet interesting amazing weird folks. I met my husband Darian, "the abnormal Navajo" and now we have a family consisting of my son Christoff and two dogs (a boxer named Kayo and an australian cattle dog named Danum). As much as I still hold that #1 reason till this day, it's a warm feeling to know that Ka'u changes little to nothing at all every time I go home. It's a good reminder for me to take nothing for granted. A small community where everyone knows everyone.
